Cancer Surgery

Cancer surgery requires great preparations and planning before surgery. Patients are meticulously evaluated before surgery, and the status of the disease, its spread to the body and the surgery options in the light of all these are planned down to the finest detail and decided together with the patient.

Cancer surgery is personalised. For this reason, the most appropriate method is selected by considering the type and stage of the tumour, tumour biology and the general medical condition of the patient. Sometimes chemotherapy or radiotherapy may be given prior to surgery or after surgery. Surgical options also vary. Open surgery, laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery are among the options. Although the oncological results of surgical methods in experienced hands are similar, choosing the right method for the right patient plays a key role in success.

Today, surgery is still the most effective and important method in the fight against cancer. The best results can be achieved when used in combination with other treatment methods.
